Spanish for holidays. Spanish for life.

Whether you're planning your first trip to Spain, spending more time there, or simply want to make better use of the Spanish you've already learned, our courses are designed to help you communicate with confidence.

This is practical Spanish for real people and real situations. You'll learn the vocabulary, expressions and language patterns that allow you to deal with everyday situations, and, as you progress, move beyond simply getting by to having proper conversations in Spanish.

All courses run for 10 weeks and are available as individual courses or for couples.

Your Spanish Journey

Our four courses form a progressive pathway, taking you from the essentials of holiday Spanish towards increasingly confident and independent communication.

Holiday Spanish 1 and 2, then Improvers Spanish 1 and 2.
You can start at the level that's right for you and continue through the pathway as your Spanish develops.

Holiday Spanish: Start speaking Spanish from day one.

You don't need to become fluent before you go to Spain. You just need to know what to say when you get there.

Holiday Spanish 1 introduces the essential Spanish you need for everyday situations. You'll learn how to communicate in restaurants, cafés, shops, hotels and other common situations, as well as how to ask questions, understand basic replies and deal with the unexpected.

The emphasis is firmly on useful Spanish that you can take with you to Spain.
You'll develop the ability to:
Introduce yourself and have simple conversations
Order food and drinks
Shop and ask about prices
Book tables and accommodation
Ask for and understand directions
Deal with common holiday situations
Use essential questions and expressions
Understand and produce the basic language patterns you need to communicate

Ideal for: beginners and learners with very little Spanish.

10-week course · Individual or couples

Holiday Spanish 2: You've learned the basics. Now start using them.

Holiday Spanish 2 builds on the foundation established in Holiday Spanish 1.

You'll encounter a wider range of situations and begin to have longer, more natural exchanges in Spanish. You'll develop your vocabulary and grammar while becoming more confident at understanding what Spanish speakers say to you.

The aim is to move beyond memorising individual phrases and start putting the language together for yourself.
You'll develop the ability to:
Deal with more complex everyday situations
Have longer conversations
Talk about yourself, your plans and your experiences
Ask follow-up questions
Understand more natural spoken Spanish
Express what you want, need and prefer
Use a wider range of vocabulary and grammatical structures

Ideal for: learners who have completed Holiday Spanish 1 or already have a basic knowledge of Spanish.

10-week course · Individual or couples

Improvers Spanish : Move beyond survival Spanish.

Perhaps you can order a coffee, ask for directions and book a table, but when a Spanish person starts talking to you, things get considerably more difficult.

That's the point at which many learners get stuck.

Improvers Spanish 1 is designed to help you make the transition from survival Spanish to genuine communication.
You'll expand your vocabulary, develop your grammar and, most importantly, start using Spanish to talk about a much wider range of subjects.

You'll learn to express opinions, describe experiences, talk about plans and deal with conversations that don't follow a script.
The goal:
Not just to know more Spanish, but to be able to do more with it.

Ideal for: learners who have completed Holiday Spanish 2 or have an equivalent level of Spanish.

10-week course · Individual or couples

Improvers Spanish 2: From knowing Spanish to really using it.

Improvers Spanish 2 is the next step for learners who are ready to become more confident, flexible and spontaneous in Spanish.

You'll work with more sophisticated vocabulary and grammatical structures while developing your ability to explain, describe, compare, speculate and express opinions.

You'll also begin to see more of the connections within the language, helping you work out what unfamiliar words and expressions mean rather than having to memorise everything individually.

The result is Spanish that feels less like a collection of things you've learned and more like a language you can actually use.

You'll develop the ability to:
Sustain longer conversations
Express and justify opinions
Talk about past, present and future experiences
Deal with unfamiliar situations
Understand more natural Spanish
Use a wider range of grammatical structures
Build vocabulary through patterns and connections
Communicate with greater fluency and confidence

Ideal for: established learners who want to take their Spanish to the next level.

A Different Approach to Learning Spanish

Learning a language isn't about collecting hundreds of isolated words and grammar rules.
Spanish has patterns.
Words are connected. Expressions are built from recurring structures. Grammar interacts with vocabulary. Once you start recognising those connections, Spanish becomes easier to understand, easier to remember, and easier to use.
That's why our courses focus on patterns, chunks and practical communication.
You won't simply learn a list of phrases and hope you remember them when you get to Spain.
You'll learn how the language and the phrases fit together, so that you can increasingly build your own Spanish.

Learn Together

Individual or couples, you choose.

Learning Spanish with a partner can be a great way to make progress together.
Our courses are available as individual lessons or for two people learning together.
You can practise what you've learned with each other, share the experience and arrive in Spain with a common bank of useful language.
Learn together. Practise together. Go to Spain and use it together.

Where will your Spanish take you?

The aim of these courses isn't to turn you into a grammar expert.
It's to get you using Spanish.
To order the meal without switching to English.
To have a conversation with your neighbour.
To chat to the person sitting next to you at the bar.
To deal with a plumber, a shopkeeper, a waiter or a receptionist.
To understand more of what's happening around you.
And eventually, to find yourself having a conversation in Spanish and realise:
“I'm actually speaking Spanish.”

Spanish for holidays. Spanish for life.
